We initially spoke with Isabella who was fabulous and understood the vibe that we were going for. Unfortunately due to an emergency Isabella was no longer available to DJ at our engagement/party surprise wedding. DJ Aaron jumped on board last minute to help and was absolutely fantastic. He understood what we were after and he had the dance floor going all night! Since the event, we have had so many people who attended mention how great the DJ and music was. At first we thought we would just use our own playlist on Spotify and buy a couple of speakers to play music for our Birthday Event, but after using Discosource, we're SOOOO glad we didn't. It was a good reminder it's not just about the music, it's the atmosphere and the stress free confidence you have when you engage a service with knowledge and experience ... and the right equipment. It was easy to communicate with our DJ (Paul). He listened, shared his knowledge and understood our music style which he delivered in spades. Our guests weren't just dancing on the dance floor, but all around the house! In line with the 70s, 80s, 90s theme, Paul used light boxes to add to the ambience along with laser lights which really set the scene. Volume was great. He was sensitive to the size of the area and the age group of those in it. We would unquestionably recommend Discosource (and Paul) to anyone planning a memorable event. How much does it cost to hire a DJ?

Pricing varies depending on your event type, duration, location and specific requirements. As a guide, mobile DJ hire typically starts from $600 for a 3-hour event. Get a free quote and we'll provide a tailored price for your event — with no obligation.

What areas do you service?

We cover all of Australia — Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Gold Coast, Geelong and surrounding regional areas. If you're unsure, just ask and we'll let you know if we have a DJ in your area.

Do your DJs bring their own equipment?

Yes — all of our DJs arrive with professional-grade sound systems, DJ controllers, and lighting. If your venue has its own AV setup or you need something specific (like a microphone for speeches or wireless uplighting), just let us know and we'll make it work.

Can I give the DJ a playlist or song requests?

Absolutely. We encourage you to share must-play songs, do-not-play lists, and any genre or era preferences ahead of the event. Our DJs are skilled at blending your requests naturally and reading the crowd throughout the night.

Are your DJs insured?

Yes. Every DJ on our roster holds public liability insurance. Many venues require this, so we've made sure all of our DJs are covered. We can provide a certificate of currency on request.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking as early as possible — especially for weddings and events on popular dates (like Fridays and Saturdays in spring/summer). That said, we often accommodate last-minute bookings, so don't hesitate to reach out even if your event is soon.

Do you provide a DJ MC for weddings?

Yes — many of our wedding DJs are also experienced MCs. They can run your full reception schedule including introductions, speeches, first dance announcements and more. This is something you can specify when submitting your enquiry.

What happens if a DJ cancels last minute?

In the rare event of an emergency, we have a network of 50+ DJs across Australia and will do everything possible to arrange a replacement. This is one of the key advantages of booking through an agency rather than directly with a sole operator.
